F94 at a glance
- Fault: the maximum number of oven door lock attempts was exceeded
- Category: a door lock issue, in the same group as F90, F91, F92 and F93
- Found on: ranges and wall ovens fitted with an electronic oven control (EOC)
- Effect: while the door and controls stay locked, no cooking function can be started
Steps you can take
- Press the UNLOCK key and follow what the screen tells you. A code appears for releasing the door and the controls.
- Still showing F94? Take the oven off power for up to 30 seconds, either by pulling the plug or by switching its circuit breaker off and back on. Frigidaire notes that most false error codes disappear after this.
If F94 comes back
A repeat appearance after the reset moves the job to the service bench. Frigidaire’s fault sheet lists these points for a technician:
- wiring running from the oven control to the lock motor micro switch
- the door latch assembly
- binding in the latch cam, the lock motor rod and the lock motor cam
- the lock motor coil, tested for an open circuit
- the oven door light switch, which is included for F92, F93 and F94
Sister door lock codes
- F93: the door stayed locked past the time limit
- F92: the door stayed open past the time limit
- F91: too many unlock attempts
- F90: unlocking took longer than the limit
Frigidaire range repair in San Francisco
For a locked oven that keeps returning F94 across San Francisco and the Bay Area, book through Frigidaire range repair or call (415) 319-6371. Tell us the F94 code, the model number and whether UNLOCK and the power reset were tried.
Model compatibility: Frigidaire reuses codes across series and model years, so F94 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
