Understanding 65
The inductor temperature sensor at the right front is reading too hot. Sheet 318200282 Rev B, for the earlier 30-inch ceramic-glass induction cooktop, lists the code.
Questions a technician answers
Is cooktop airflow right, both airway and fan?
Is the white isolation material in place over the entire inductor?
Is the temperature sensor connected properly to the Induction House Assembly?
Does the sensor resistor on the blue wires measure about 1000 ohms at room temperature? If it does not, the inductor is replaced.
Finally, the associated generator circuit board is replaced.
Codes easy to mix up
Code 61 and code 62 are the too-hot reading at the left front and left rear.
Model compatibility: Frigidaire reuses codes across series and model years, so 65 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
Code 65 means the right front inductor temperature sensor reads too hot.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
