Frigidaire Cooktop 21 Error Code

Reading code 21

The cooktop uses a Local Interconnect Network, or LIN, to let its boards talk. A 21 on the display tells you that network has either lost communications or has a shorted bus. Service data sheet 318200282 Rev B documents it for the earlier 30-inch ceramic-glass induction cooktop.

Three technician steps

1. Confirm that the LIN bus communication harness at the P9 connector of the ESEC-UIB is seated well and undamaged.
2. If the code stays, replace the ESEC-UIB.
3. After that, replace the filter circuit board.

Codes that share the path

• Code 15, an ESEC self-test failure.
